I help organizations build AI and data platforms that actually make it into production — along with the teams, practices, and architecture needed to sustain them.
My work sits at the intersection of strategy and delivery. I partner with leadership to shape AI direction, while working closely with engineering and data teams to turn that direction into systems that run reliably in the real world.
I was the founding member of the Data & AI practice at Thoughtworks, where I helped build the capability from the ground up into a global group of 300+ practitioners. During that time, I served as a senior technical lead on large-scale AI and data platform programs across finance, healthcare, manufacturing, robotics, energy, and government.
I co-created CD4ML (Continuous Delivery for Machine Learning), a framework for applying software engineering discipline to machine learning systems. That experience continues to shape my perspective: the organizations that succeed with AI treat it as an engineering and product problem, not just a modeling exercise.
Earlier in my career, I worked as a research scientist in astrophysics and cosmology, building large-scale data pipelines and statistical models for scientific datasets. That background continues to inform how I approach complex systems, though my focus today is entirely on applied AI and data platforms.
Currently engaged with Navalia as Chief Data & AI Scientist
I’ve led the design and delivery of modern data platforms and advised executive teams on AI strategy, architecture, and organizational approach.
Through my consulting work, I typically help clients:
- Define a practical AI strategy grounded in their business and data reality
- Design and implement production-grade data and ML platforms
- Establish engineering practices that make AI systems reliable and maintainable
- Bridge the gap between experimentation and operational systems
I also write and speak about AI, data platforms, and the gap between prototype and production — with a focus on what actually works in practice.
